Konica FS-1

Manufactured from 1979 to 1983

I have have been a real Minolta XG-series fan for the past 25 years, so I was surprised to like this camera as much as I do after shooting the very first roll. For one thing, I love the built-in auto advance. No cumbersome add-on winder as with a lot of other older cameras. That large battery compartment to hold 4 AA batteries has been carefully designed as a comfortable hand grip. The controls are all very intuitive and the Hexanon f1.4 lens is nice and sharp. The camera just feels good in the hand and is a joy to use. These images were scanned from 4 by 6 inch prints made at my local Target store. They would look much better had I scanned the negatives.
